How can we help Google make a splash at Cannes on the beach?

Every year brands fight for attention at Cannes.

Google are no exception, but with the marketplace becoming increasingly crowded they needed a way of captivating IRL attendees and their social audience.

But how could they keep both audiences happy at the same time without diminishing the exclusivity of the event?

The ask

  1. Help create a run of show which set them apart from the competition, both in terms of aesthetic and substance.

  2. Find a way to capture the Google magic on the beach for our social audience to enjoy.

The approach

  1. Use YouTube creators to add a point of experiential difference to The Google Beach.

  2. Create a series of immersive social assets which gave our audience exclusive insights, directly from keynotes.

  3. Work with on-the-ground teams for tight turnarounds, to ensure social creative was as timely as possible.

The results

  1. Full attendance on The Google Beach.

  2. A record-breaking, high-performing social campaign for The Google Beach at Cannes.
